The Story of Eldridge & Clements

On a quieter street in Leeds, where the modern world usually hurries past without looking in, stands Eldridge & Clements.

Who We Are

From the pavement, it appears to belong to another age.

The frontage has not yielded to fashion. The painted sign remains elegant and self-possessed. In the window: polished trunks, cream paper, old railway posters, a fountain pen laid just so โ€” the quiet promise of departure, without any of the usual noise attached to it.

To many, it looks like a travel shop left behind by the 1950s, somehow spared the indignities of the decades that followed.

Inside, the illusion holds.

Dark wood, brass, a hush of order. Counters that seem made for steamship tickets. Brochures that suggest rather than advertise. Lamps that flatter the room, and maps that imply the world can still be approached with grace.

But the front room is only the threshold.

Beyond it, Eldridge & Clements opens โ€” not dramatically, but naturally. Rooms unfold where no rooms should be. A lounge appears, amber-lit, with armchairs, journals, and a bar trolley that seems always to understand the hour. Corridors stretch farther than the building permits. And beyond them, the world rearranges itself by feeling rather than geography: a lakeside terrace at dusk, a railway carriage in twilight, a hotel salon just before dinner.

Eldridge & Clements is not a travel agency.

It is a place you enter when you want to travel differently.

Who Are Eldridge & Clements

Eldridge & Clements was founded by two people who could hardly have come from more different worlds.

Thomas Eldridge arrived from America with scale, confidence, and a certain unapologetic appetite for life. He belongs to open highways, late-night bars, and cities that glow a little brighter than they should. He believes travel should thrill โ€” that a train should feel like an event, a hotel should transform you slightly, and a good martini should be taken seriously.

Moira Clements could not be more different.

Where Thomas is expansive, Moira is precise. Where he speaks, she observes. She notices the softness of light, the tone of a room, the difference between elegance and display. She understands that travel is not just where you go, but how it feels while you are there.

Together, they form a quiet balance.

Thomas brings glamour, scale, and occasion.
Moira brings atmosphere, restraint, and emotional truth.

Between them, Eldridge & Clements became something neither could have created alone.

Our Philosophy

Travel, to us, is not a transaction.

It is not availability, filters, or hurried decisions dressed up as convenience. It is not something to be completed.

It is something to be composed.

We believe travel should feel like stepping into another version of life โ€” one where there is time for the train, the sea view, the better room, the drink before dinner. Where the long way round is taken not out of necessity, but because it is lovelier.

Eldridge & Clements exists for those who still believe the journey matters.

For those who understand that glamour need not be loud, that elegance need not be cold, and that the world is best experienced not in bulk, but in carefully chosen moments.

From a quiet street in Leeds, a different way of travelling continues to unfold.

Beyond the front room, it still does.
